Thailand Honeymoon

Thailand is a dream destination if you're planning a honeymoon or just want a romantic getaway in an exotic location. Most people who honeymoon in Thailand still choose to head to the beaches, and there certainly are some amazing ones here. But if you're looking for something a little more adventurous or different, there are plenty of other places in Thailand what are wonderfully romantic and also off the beaten path.

Koh Samui Beaches

The island of Koh Samui is ringed with beaches. Which ones should you visit? Use this guide to pick the best Koh Samui beach for you.

Koh Phi Phi

Koh Phi Phi, a small island a couple of hours by boat from Phuket, is an island lover's dream. Clear water, majestic cliffs and soft sand make Koh Phi Phi a picture-perfect paradise. The only downside? Thousands of others already know about it and it's in danger of being overrun by boats, guest houses and tourists. Still, if you're not bothered by crowds or overdevelopment, you might find it the most beautiful place on earth.

Koh Chang

Koh Chang, Thailand’s second largest island, is just off the coast of Trat Province on the east side of the Gulf of Siam. Koh Chang has everything you’d want in a tropical island – white sandy beaches, plenty of palm trees, and warm, clear water. But for now at least it doesn’t have the big crowds you’ll find in more popular Phuket or Koh Samui. That's not to say it's entirely undeveloped. There are plenty of resorts and roads and more on the way.

Patong Beach

Patong beach on Phuket is the island's most popular beach and probably the most popular beach in all of Thailand. For many vacationers, it's the best of both worlds - a gorgeous, big, wide beach with white sand and warm water and plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and clubs in the surrounding area.

Railey Beach

Railey Beach is one of Thailand's most beautiful beaches. Although it's on the mainland in Krabi Province, because it's only accessible by boat, it has a desert island feel. There are Railey beaches, West Railey and East Railey. East Railey is mud flats and mangroves. It's just a few minutes by foot to West Railey, but make sure you know which beach you're staying on.

Hua Hin

Hua Hin Beach, just a few hours by car, train or bus from Bangkok, is one of the most popular beaches in Thailand. The beach itself is a long, flat stretch of sand that slopes gently into the ocean, and it's surrounded by a small town with plenty of hotels, resorts and guest houses as well as places to eat and drink.

Top Reasons to Visit Thailand

Ever considered a visit to Thailand for your next work vacation? Though Thailand vacations are considered pretty normal for Europeans, most North Americans consider Thailand too far away and even too exotic to visit on a regular week or two week vacation. That’s a shame, because if you can get past the 14+ hours on a plane, Thailand is an amazing vacation destination.

Thailand's High Season

In most of Thailand, high season starts in November and lasts through January. Thinking of visiting Thailand during high season? Here's what you need to know.

Pattaya Beaches

Pattaya’s beaches are abundant but aren’t as clean or quiet as the beaches in other parts of the country. They do offer great value and are very convenient if you’re coming from Bangkok. If you’re heading to Pattaya but want a quiet beach to relax on, the best bet is one of the resorts between Pattaya Beach and Jomtien Beach. Many of these have their own private beaches.

Thailand Safety Tips

Many people think that there will be lots of health and safety concerns to contend with when visiting Thailand. The truth is, Thailand is far safer than many other tourist destinations and definitely safer than most large cities. Assaults, rapes, muggings and other crimes against tourists are so rare that when they happen, they make front page news. If you take normal precautions, you shouldn’t have to worry about staying healthy and safe while you are here.
